Defra and WRAP (Waste Resources Action Programme) are keen to receive feedback on opportunities to alleviate the cost burden on businesses that may be incurred from the adoption of Defra’s Resource and Waste Strategy policy. This policy will require businesses to separate their recyclables and food waste from their residual waste in future years.
The potential for businesses to share waste collection facilities has been discussed by sector stakeholders as one potential way to reduce waste collection costs for businesses. This could also help to overcome the practical challenges that some businesses face such as limited space for separate recycling bins and reduced vehicle movements.

Additionally, please contact WRAP if you would also be willing to participate in a ten-minute follow-up call to discuss your views in more detail.
