A Lichfield author and mental health professional is set to deliver an intimate evening of storytelling, reflection, and live performance at a new independent bookstore.
“An evening with Sheila McMahon” will take place at Fiction and Fairy Lights in Hednesford next Wednesday, June 10, from 6.30 until 8.30pm and will see Sheila share personal readings from her two published books, ‘The Power of Knowing You’ and ‘Behind Closed Doors’.
For the first time, Sheila will be reading aloud an extract from The Power of Knowing You, which she penned from a child’s perspective, offering audiences a deeply personal insight into her lived experience.
Alongside poetry, humour, music, and open conversation of mental health and wellbeing, Sheila will draw on more than 20 years of experience in mental health practice to explore common challenges, like imposter syndrome, self-worth, and people-pleasing behaviours, and how these patterns can be understood and overcome.
Signed copies of both books will be available on the night and tickets, priced £3m, can be purchased here.
