To mark our 30th Anniversary, on Tuesday 12th July we held a members celebratory event at Aston Marina.

This was the opportunity to look at some of our milestones since 1992 (SBEN has helped over 377 Staffordshire businesses to be more environmentally friendly through events, funded support programmes, training and business grants.) and also what we our future plans include.

The day was only possible thanks to the generous support of our sponsors:

  • APT Health and Safety Training
  • EQM
  • Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce
  • Staffordshire University
  • TMT First
  • Veolia

Our 70plus enjoyed the opportunity to network whilst enjoying refreshments and celebration cakes and our guest speakers were well received:

  • County Councillor Simon Tagg – Cabinet Member for Environment, Infrastructure and Climate Change.
  • Joan Walley – Chair Midlands Region Greener NHS Delivery Board, Vice President Chartered Institute Environmental Health, Patron Beth Johnson Foundation, Patron North Staffordshire Ladsandads Patron Climate Matters Staffordshire
  • Professor Zoe Robinson – Professor of Sustainability in Higher Education Keele University Director of Education for Sustainability.
  • David Symons – UK Director of Sustainability WSP, Future Ready Innovation leader and SocEnv’s Environmental Professional of The Year 2020

Feedback gave the day a 100% success rating and the comments speak for themselves (here are just a sample):

  • “A credit to all those involved – a superb event that did SBEN proud!”
  • “Great mix of guest speakers. Really enjoyed this well organised event!”
  • “Really enjoyed the presentations and learnt a lot. Thank you – please invite me again”
