Green Solutions funded by BEAS
Is your business looking for support on how to reduce your costs and become greener?
Green Solutions is a programme that offers support to businesses in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent to enable you to take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Providing Free Energy Assessments and Grants of up to £100,000 for SMEs. The Business Energy Advice Service (BEAS) is a government-funded pilot programme designed to help businesses reduce energy costs and drive growth through free energy assessments and 50% match-funded grants.
You can access BEAS support for:
- Energy Assessment: This FREE Energy Assessment will look at your energy consumption and provide you with recommendations to save money and reduce your carbon emissions.
- Low Carbon Grant: A grant of between £1,000 and £100,000 (cover up to 50% of eligible costs) is available per business to implement any of the recommendations from the Energy Assessment.

Green Loan Scheme
We are now offering businesses in Staffordshire the opportunity to spread the cost of implementing energy efficient measures to their premises with our new Green Loan Scheme.
Businesses who have had or who are undergoing an energy assessment will be able to apply for a Green Loan for 100% of the cost of the report recommendation.
What we are offering:
- 100% upfront for implementing the recommendation
- 2-4 year payback period
- Interest free
- No administration fee
- Loans from £5,000 up to £200,000
- Green Solutions grant funding can be used to pay back 50% of the loan
- Loan can be applied for at any stage of the grant process

Carbon Literacy Training
To help your business reduce your costs and your carbon footprint at the same time, we are offering two FREE places per Staffordshire-based business (excludes Stoke-on-Trent area) on a Carbon Literacy Training course.
This FREE 8-hour training course will provide you the knowledge and skills to take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. You can choose whether to attend an in-person, online course or the NEW E-Learning course; and the training is accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project. Carbon Tracker
Carbon Tracker is sben’s FREE online carbon foot printing and reporting tool that enables Staffordshire organisations to measure carbon emissions from their energy use, fuel use, travel, water consumption and energy generation.
Funded through Staffordshire County Council, developed by sben, and boosting the Environmental Quality Mark CIC, the Carbon Tracker is available to eligible Staffordshire organisations who are members of sben.
Carbon Tracker will help businesses measure business carbon emissions year on year, so they can focus their actions to reduce emissions and achieve Net Zero. A report will be generated for you to share with your board, colleagues, and customers to demonstrate your yearly progress.
