We would like to congratulate New Vic Theatre for winning the Outstanding Contribution to sben Awards 2024!​

We would like to congratulate them for their commitment to sustainability by implementing energy-efficient lighting, glazing, heating and BMS. They have also been through the Green Solutions Programme and have secured grant funding towards this. On top of that, they have also completed our Carbon Literacy Training and have helped us with producing video’s and press releases, to promote both the Green Solutions energy assessments, grants as well as a video for the Carbon Literacy Training courses.

They actively promoting recycling, and engage with the community to increase environmental awareness. All of this aligns well with sben’s values of reducing our environmental impact and improving sustainability. This dedication to environmental responsibility makes them our Outstanding Contribution winner.

What New Vic Theatre had to say about it:

Michelle Friel-Martin Head of Fundraising & Development collected the award on behalf of the New Vic, Michelle said “thank you for the New Vic’s award, we are very proud to be recognised in this way, on an issue that is so important to us, our community and our sector.

I must say that we wouldn’t have managed such a massive project without your guidance and support. You helped us to be ambitious and aspirational and your funding helped us to attract more support.”

We would also like to congratulate Normans Education and Erwin Hymer Centre: Travelworld, who were both awarded highly commended and runners-up for this award as well.​

Thank you to Normans Education, who have completed Carbon Literacy Training and, after having a Green Solutions Grant, they have installed energy efficient infra-red heaters and LED lighting. They have also helped us with promotional videos and press releases to promote Green Solutions.

Thank you to Erwin Hymer Centre Travelworld, who have also completed the Carbon Literacy Training. Following this they gave completely reassessed their site recycling and waste management and helping local wildlife. They have also undertaken a Green Solutions Energy Assessment, and are making good progress on the path to net zero and are regular attendees to our sben events.
