Energy Resilience Accelerator Opens for UK SMEs

The Energy Resilience Accelerator has opened applications for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) developing technologies and services to improve energy resilience across the UK.

Successful applicants will receive a fully funded package of tailored technical, commercial and business support. This can include energy systems expertise, business model development, market validation and advice on investment readiness. Participants may also receive help with procurement, risk reduction, project management, trial proposals and business cases.

The package can provide introductions to potential customers, investors and industry partners. Businesses may also present their innovations to investors, policymakers and industry stakeholders. Participants can apply for trial funding of up to approximately £40,000 to test a solution in a live environment.

Eligible activities include technical development, designing and planning real-world trials, testing solutions in live settings and assessing potential impacts. Support can also cover commercialisation planning, investment strategies and the development of routes to market adoption.

Applicants must be headquartered in the UK or have a registered UK presence. Solutions should be at Technology Readiness Level 6 or above and ready for testing in a relevant or real-world environment.

Businesses must address at least one participating partner’s challenge. They must also show market traction through revenue-generating activity, investment or, in some cases, a late-stage minimum viable product backed by a strong track record.

The deadline for applications is Sunday 8th November 2026 (23:59).
