Lichfield-based Midland Karting is celebrating a landmark 25 years of entertaining the region with an adrenaline-fuelled, head-to-head battle that will pitch businesses against businesses.

The roar of engines and the scent of burning rubber is set to take over the Fradley racetrack later this month as companies across the region swap spreadsheets for speed when a major industry versus industry endurance race gets underway.

The milestone event will see leading Midlands businesses battle it out in what’s expected to be a high-octane, three-hour relay race that will put their stamina, strategy, and teamwork to the test on Saturday, April 25.

High-octane event is set to thank Midlands businesses for longstanding support

And that’s not all. The monumental anniversary race is being held to celebrate and thank the region’s business community for supporting the independent circuit since its launch in 2001.

Midland Karting’s owner Garry Mitchell said: “We’re incredibly proud, as an independent business, to be here celebrating such a landmark anniversary and would like to thank the companies, organisations and families that have supported us for the last 25 years.”

To mark the milestone year, there will also be a 25th Anniversary Golden Ticket Giveaway that will see one business win a prize pot worth over £400, including free race entry for a team of four and a package of treats on the day.

But there’s only a limited number of race slots remaining, with organisers at the premier motorsport venue urging businesses to secure their place before the grid fills.

Regional heavyweights confirmed for the landmark starting grid

Competition for the corporate leaderboard is already intensifying, with entrants, including a host of Lichfield-based businesses, signed up to take part in the anniversary race.

Amongst the confirmed businesses are Midlands Air Ambulance, Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, Maverick Security, MyMidlands UK, Unique Kitchen Resprays, Andrew Booth-Downing Estate Agents and LF Plastering.

Garry added: “As a specialist in high-impact, corporate team building and strategic activities designed to sharpen leadership and collaboration, our anniversary endurance race will be a natural fit for any companies looking to combine competition with meaningful professional development.

“But this won’t be your average business away day; it will be a test of stamina, lightning-fast pit stops and team tactics.

“As well as settling some of the region’s professional rivalries on the tarmac, we’re excited at the prospect of nurturing more authentic connections in our post-race networking event.”

When the chequered flag falls, the venue will host a free, relaxed networking event from NetworkLocal, a specialist in staging dynamic B2B experiences that are designed to break down corporate barriers and foster genuine collaboration.

Running from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, and featuring a pop-up cocktail bar, courtesy of Lichfield’s Tipples & Tonics, the event will help regional professionals to build meaningful connections beyond the racetrack.

NetworkLocal and MyMidlands founder Kellie Johnson, pictured right here with Garry, said: “This event is about bringing the Midlands’ business community together in an environment that breaks down traditional barriers.”

Tickets for the free networking event are available here and the 25th Anniversary Golden Ticket Giveaway is free to enter on social media, via @mymids or @midland_karting, and the winner will be announced on Friday, April 17.
