Staffordshire Business & Environment Network member accountants Dingle Lane are delighted to have become a “carbon positive” business.
David Nicoll, Dingle Lane’s founder, explains
“Every one of our staff members are now climate positive. This means we are offsetting their entire carbon footprint, including emissions from their home, personal travel, holidays, food, hobbies and more. On top of that, the entire business carbon footprint is also offset. In June 2020, over 2 tonnes of carbon offset has already been achieved.
Carbon pollution is a global problem. It doesn’t matter where a greenhouse gas was removed or prevented from entering the atmosphere – our surprisingly thin layer of the air fully mixes within one year. The fact that we can do this anywhere in the world is a saving grace for humanity. Mass reforestation, large scale renewable energy installations, access to engineers, labour, and resources can happen wherever it’s most efficient.
But of course, “charity begins at home”. So as well as ensuring our planet is protected, we are committed to ensuring our own country remains the “green and pleasant land” we all love. So as well as supporting effective international carbon reduction projects, we ensure the UK’s beauty and environment is enhanced and maintained too!
Our community and our environment have always been as important to us as our business. Covid has reminded us that we can – and must – do things differently. It has given us a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to transform our business and make a real difference for everyone.”
Carbon has been offset through Gold Standard.
