We’re working with Staffordshire Samaritans to tell people they’re not alone during their darkest hours this winter.
Sunday 21 December is the longest night of the year, with the sun setting around 4.00pm.
We’re using the date to remind anyone in need that the Samaritans will be there for them, including over Christmas and the New Year. Their support line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, even on Christmas Day.
We’re asking individuals, organisations and businesses across Staffordshire to join us by shining a light in their window.
Would you like your business to get involved?
Businesses are invited to join by requesting a free awareness pack, including posters and green LED candles to display during the week of the year’s longest night, starting Monday 15 December. Together, we can create a network of care that reaches those who need it most.
We’d also like to get as many Staffordshire businesses as possible to sign up at least one member of their staff to our free Suicide Awareness and Prevention training sessions. The training is designed to help people to recognise signs that someone may be at risk of suicide and to give them the tools they need to be able to help them to get the right support.
Register now for your pack and a link to book your place on a free training session via our campaign form.
