Lengthening Lifespans
Andun Engineering Consultants Ltd, a specialist consultancy for temporary works design and demolition engineering, moved forward in installing new LED Lighting and a Boiler in their Newcastle-under-Lyme Office. The benefits of the LED Lighting were outlined in their initial Energy Assessment. It showed that the new LED lighting lamps should have a minimum lifespan of 30,000 hours, compared to the old lighting system that gave them only 15,000 hours. The lengthening of its lifespan was not the only benefit as it also reduces maintenance costs, improves lighting quality, saves energy by roughly 1,840 kWh per year, and carbon by 0.41 tonnes per year.

Saving a 1/3 on Energy Costs
The second installation that Andun Engineering Consultants Ltd introduced was a modern boiler. This replacement would increase the efficiency from 60% to >92% and save them one third on money, energy, and carbon!
