LCBEP Recommendation
Specialist low carbon consultant Environmental Solutions through Partnership (ESP) visited Thomas Gameson &Sons Ltd., to undertake a free LCBEP energy review that looked at all aspects of the business; existing EMS, vehicles and transportation, buildings, insulation and glazing, heating, cooling and lighting.
LED Lighting
Investigation suggested that Thomas Gameson and Sons Ltd., has already invested in LED lighting throughout office areas while the factory used 400W MBFU lamps which had potential for replacement to LED with higher energy efficiency and longer life-span.
In addition to substantial energy savings, replacing switch start fittings with high frequency LED alternatives meant that the lighting source can be instantly activated and switched on and off repeatedly without degrading the fitting itself, making them compatible with lighting controls and switch-off policies.
LED lighting upgrade was completed as seen in the before and after images below and delivered an estimated energy saving of 38500kWh/£4,714.09/ 13.54TCO2e per annum.
