Investing in Upgrades
Eccleshall Football Club Ltd were able to secure our previous BEAS grant funding that allowed them to invest in upgrading their lighting to LEDs. This grant covered 30% of the total project cost, with 70% of the project cost being covered by the Premier League Fund.
“The funding available from the Premier League LED Floodlight Fund (via the Football Foundation) contributed 70% of the overall project costs and Eccleshall FC were required to find the remaining 30%. As a club with limited resources, the grant funding available from the Green Solutions Programme greatly assisted us to deliver the project. It would have been very difficult without the grant support.”
With this lighting replacement the Football Club would be able to save approximately 1,063 kWh of energy per year, which equates to a value of £259 per year. This was achieved by replacing their previous light fittings with 17 new LED 4-6 ft Battens and 2 LED bulbs.
“We have noticed considerable savings on our lighting bills as a result of the project.”
Preventing Problems

“The installation of the new LED lighting units, which replaced our old metal halide lighting system have made a vast difference. The old system was over twenty years old and beginning to fail – our club would have had major problems down the line with both the FA Stadium Accreditation and our League if the system had not been replaced.”
