Taking Action
Through the Energy Assessment and subsequent Grant, Wells Performance Materials Ltd – the largest independently owned polymer formulation and manufacturing company in the UK – identified key improvements to reduce energy use and save money.
“It was only with the assistance of the grant funding, that we were able to take real and meaningful action to reduce our business carbon footprint.”
Great Savings
Installing Sub Metering, LED Lighting, and Motors to their facility had been estimated to save them an estimated £25,020 per year and 171,090 kWh per year as well, resulting in a payback period of 3.8 years.
The estimated savings are as projected, one year on from installation.
“Through consistent energy management, the 24/7 manufacturer improved to reduce like-for-like energy usage on-site by more than 10% between March 2025 and March 2026.”
A Helping Hand
Without the funding support Wells Performance Materials Ltd would not have been able to continue with their projects as ‘the return on investment would not have met the organisations approval criteria’. Fortunately, with the funding and the support from the sben team, they were able to get through the grant process with ease.
“The help and guidance provided by the Staffordshire County Council was of great value and helped make the whole process run smoothly.”
