A Great Return on Investment
As an attraction for children and families, The National Adventure Farm have been keen to streamline their efficiency, and the Low Carbon Grant has been able to give them the momentum to complete the LED light fitting project. With this improvement the project will be able to pay for itself in 2 years as the project’s total cost was £10,700, and the new LEDs have been able to save them an estimated £5,341 per year; but, with the grant funding, The National Adventures Farm will be able to see a financial difference in just1 year.

Energy Efficiency
As a major attraction in East Staffordshire, The National Adventure Farm needs to store a lot of items in their warehouses which must be well lit for many hours of the day. Before the change the total energy consumption was 41,380 kWh of energy per year with a life span of 15,000 hours. However, the energy consultant ProEnviro Ltd recommended switching to LED lighting, drastically reducing their estimated energy consumption down to 14,944 kWh – saving 26,436 kWh of energy per year.
In addition to this, the LEDs have double the lifespan comparative to their previous lights, with a minimum of 30,000 hours of life. This will inevitably reduce their need to be maintained and replaced, and associated costs as well.
Impact
The grant helped the National Adventure Farm accelerate its energy-efficiency plans, reducing operational costs and environmental impact while improving lighting quality across the site.
