Challenge
Rebecca Homes Ltd, an East Staffordshire care home, operated with an outdated boiler system that was inefficient, costly to run, and prone to breakdowns. Rising energy costs and the need to reduce carbon emissions prompted them to explore options for upgrading to a modern, high‑efficiency system.
Funding Support
Rebecca Homes Ltd has been able to install a new boiler in their property. This investment goes beyond saving energy (6,490 kWh/yr) and carbon (1.62 tomes/yr), it has allowed them to save more than £630 per year.
“Our projected savings were estimated to be £630 per year, but we have saved a lot more money than this as we order a lot less oil now and they are less likely to break down.”
Helping the Environment
Having had an Energy Assessment Report conducted by ProEnviro Ltd one of the key areas that Rebecca Homes Ltd could save on was installing a modern boiler. It was recommended to transition to this high-efficient boiler as a replacement would reduce their annual energy usage by 6,490 kWh; and increasing the boiler efficiency from roughly 75% to >92%.
“We, at Rebecca Homes Ltd, are very interested in helping the environment and we could not afford the boilers without the grant funding from the Council. The Green Solutions Team have been a great help, and we are really happy with the new boiler.”
